Customer service was a 2 as well, friendly but took forever. There was a new young man checking us in and he was not trained on the computer system to check us in. The other guy, a little older who was the "boss" kept leaving, the result was about 30 minutes to check in.
We tried to call and make a reservation, the phone system leads you through a rabbit trail of choices only to have no one answer the phone. While checking in the "boss" took a phone call and had to interrupt my check in because they only had one computer. He said, "sorry I need to take this the lady has been leaving messages for a week and I have never called her back." Our information was lost in the mean time and we had to start over.
This place was very warm and welcoming when Benny Bragg was working.however very recently he allegedly committed suicide there in his camper. However it was very suspicious, and I am not stopping until I get the truth of the matter..
I don't believe he done this. He and a friend was together,he allegedly done it the night before and the so called friend left him there and called Ben's family the next morning and advised them to get to his camper and get his body.the police were called. They said it was suspicious.but ruled it a suicide. .
Thomas Point Beach is a family owned campground on a beautiful piece of land. The folks that run it are always friendly, accommodating, and courteous. We were able to reserve the site we wanted and fully enjoy a quiet overnight camping trip. Our kids love the beach and the 9 hole disc golf course!
Beautiful piece of property, it the rating was on yhe property it would get 5 stars. Bathrooms are pretty bad, very dated, dark, dirty and need lots of repairs. Shower house is similar, cobwebs abound, can't adjust water temp and it is not very warm. Laundry room was the same, floor so filthy was afraid to let anyyhing accidentally fall and hit the floor.
Went here on a field trip with my daughters kindergarten class, and they had a great time! The beach was definitely more muddy than sand, but the kids all loved digging up stuff, making sandcastles, etc. There were SO many horseshoe crabs, which seemed to be a big hit! Very pretty area.
I would recommend doing any campsite reservations over the phone; apparently, while the computer system is capable of taking and acknowledging a site reservation, it isn't checked or updated regularly, and our reservation was given away out from under us. Luckily, we were still able to get a site, but it was only because we'd called with further questions that the oversight was discovered. The facilities, while not particularly hygienic, were functional, and we had a good time, but it's clear that not much is being put into maintenance, effort-wise.
